Evaluate for Change hosts a virtual book club four times a year for those social sector professionals interested in learning, connecting, and expanding their networks with like minded individuals. Books are picked by the collective group and authors often make a guest appearance to dive even deeper into the content and answer questions.

The book club is conducted LIVE through GoToMeetings which gives members the opportunity to interact with our staff, your peers, and authors verbally and through a chat box to meet all communication preferences. Meet leaders and evaluation advocates from across the country as you discuss the newest techniques and pedagogy happening in the evaluation world.

May Book Club Meeting

Evaluate for Change will host our next book club in May with special guest author, Sheri Chaney Jones, to discuss her book: Impact & Excellence: Data-Driven Strategies for Aligning Mission, Culture and Performance in Nonprofit and Government Organizations. On Tuesday, May 2, 2017 from 1PM-2PM (EST), Sheri will join us for a special hour long question and answer session. She will dive deeper into the content, share examples, and answer questions.

While reading Impact & Excellence: Data-Driven Strategies for Aligning Mission, Culture and Performance in Nonprofit and Government Organizations, you can use the following guiding questions to prepare you for our meeting:

Question #1: Did the research on high-performance measurement cultures in the social sector surprise you? Why or why not?

Question #2: From your own experience, what reasons have social sector organizations used to keep them from implementing high-performance cultures. What insights did you get from Impact & Excellence to help address these reasons?

Question #3: Was there a specific section/tip that had left an impression – good or bad? Share the take-a-way and its effect.

Question #4: Did the research and the content in this book inspire you to think about how your organizations uses the data it collects in a different way? If so, how?
